Get up.
Maybe today you feel a little off. Maybe the heaviness is real. Maybe your thoughts are whispering, “Maybe this isn’t for you,” or “Maybe give up.” I get it. I feel it too.
But here’s the truth: your purpose isn’t waiting for you to feel perfect. That calling God has placed on your life, whatever it may be…whether it’s the job you’ve been praying about, the project you’ve been putting off, the art you want to create, the podcast episode you’ve been avoiding ( eh hem, so me) it’s waiting for you to show up anyway. Not tomorrow. Not when you feel like it. Now.
I’m sitting in my house listening to Samara Joy, trying to start editing a video I’ve been procrastinating. My thoughts are loud, trying to convince me that because it’s hard, because I don’t feel like it, maybe I’m not meant to do it. But God said it’s for me. Who am I to say otherwise?
Here’s the thing: in the midst of the hard, you can still find your joy. For me, it’s jazz, sending my friends texts just to remind them I adore them, those little pockets of love and light I create in the middle of the grind. Your joy might look different. Maybe it’s a cup of coffee, a walk, a favorite song, writing in your journal, or lighting a candle. But whatever it is, hold onto it as you move.
So here’s your sign: get up. Do that one thing you’ve been putting off today. Push through the hesitation. Mix the hard with the good. Move toward your purpose. You were called to this moment. Don’t let your doubts write your story.
Get up.
Love you lots,
Jasmine Lashae
